Schedule

Fall Quarter

Winter Quarter

Winter quarter will consist of the construction process for the carbon fiber shredder. The parts will be ordered during this quarter and some complications may occur with the shipping. The construction of each belt guard will take some time due to the sources needed to complete it. The materials needed for each belt guard will be cut from a metal sheet and welded together according to the dimensions of the belt length. Fall quarter will be very important for this quarter because it will determine the correct parts to order. The ordering process should start as soon as the analyses are finalized. The parts needed to purchase are sprockets, belts, bushing bores, and nuts. The installation process should not exceed 2 hours.

Spring Quarter

During the Spring, the testing process will begin and it will test how well the improvements correlate to the requirements in Section 1d (1-14). Minor changes to the drive system will be made if the belts are too loose when installed and operating. The belt guards will determine the cleanliness of the area around the belt drive while operating. The replacement of the chain drive to a synchronous belt drive will determine if the sound of the system was reduced by 50%. The gear reduction at the speed reducer will determine if the minimum of 1000 RPMs was achieved.

The schedule will show when the project was actually started, the time it took to calculate each analyses, and the planning process for the rest of the year. The project was started late due to the amount of time spent on trying to find the right things to calculate for the design process. So far the project is up to date and each task will be completed according to the gnatt chart.

In the Fall, the design process will be initiated on September 21,2022 to the beginning of December. This process will include analyses of calculations pertaining to kinematics, strength of materials, static, mechanical design, and other sources. The drawings will be created according to the results from the analyses and the parts needed to improve the carbon fiber recycler. Each drawing will be drawn in an application called SolidWorks and the standards will be ANSI Y14.5. After the drawings and the dimensions are known for each part, the assemble process begins. The assembly of the system in SolidWorks will determine how the pieces fit together on the current design.
